Wedding Video FAQ

Q?

Are the short pieces on your website all I get?

A.

NO. The short pieces you see on our website are called "highlights" or "trailers" and they are included in our CREATIVE wedding video package. No matter which package you choose though we will document your wedding for the exact amount of time that you select (or that is included in your package) and your video will include a high quality, fully edited film of all memorable moments that we capture during that time.

Q?

All I really want is the highlight / trailer (short piece), do you offer that?

A.

NO. We have been in the industry long enough and have also been married long enough to 100% know that a shorter video, while awesome to watch and share with friends will not suffice your eventual desire to see longer segments. Because of this the trailer/highlight is only offered as an companion product to the full video.

Q?

Im considering a package that has a "Day After Preview", is it really going to be ready the day after the wedding?

A.

More than likely, YES. Our goal is to have all Day After Previews online the day after the wedding, however, we sometimes have travel or other work that may interfere with our ability to do get it online the day after the wedding. Because of this we specify in the contract that we have up to three days to get a Day After preview completed however this extra time is certainly not the norm.

Q?

Are you obtrusive?

A.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. We 100% understand how important it is to not be a disruption to ANY part of your day and we work hard to get the most awesome shots while remaining as inconspicuous as possible! During your ceremony, our sensitivity to being inconspicuous is even greater and this is when we depend on our cameras incredible zoom capabilities to capture shots that will make you feel like you are there again.

Q?

Do you travel?

A.

YES. In fact over half of our weddings are outside of what would be considered our home area.
Our travel policy is very lenient and our free travel radius is relatively large but even when a wedding is outside of our free travel radius we do everything we can to keep our travel fees low.

Q?

I've heard wedding video is a waste of money, is this true?

A.

YES AND NO, and it completely depends on who you choose to video your wedding. I once heard a news anchor talk about her wedding video and she told the story of how she hired her television crew co-workers to film her wedding. Her eventual synopsis to her story was that the final product was "A TRAIN WRECK".
Weddings are extremely difficult to video from many aspects and if each aspect is not carefully tended to then the whole video can fall apart. With our experience, we understand how to handle each of these aspects as well as the many different situations in weddings and because of these understandings (and also our hard work ethic) we hear the couples we work with describe our work as "the best money spent on the wedding".

Q?

What is required to book your services for my wedding?

A.

JUST A FEW SIMPLE STEPS. First, make sure to CONTACT US and verify our availability for your wedding date. If we are available we will provide you with some detailed information on our packages and from that information you can select exactly what you want and then let us know that you are ready to move forward with securing the date. At that point we will send you our contract for you to review and sign and we also require our retainer fee to be paid. The retainer fee is $700 and holds the date for your wedding while also acting as the first payment towards the package and any options you select.

Q?

Can we have a meeting?

A.

ABSOLUTELY. Let us know that you would like to meet and we will work with you to figure out the best time and make it happen. All of our meetings are held at our home office in Chapin, SC.

Q?

Is a meeting required?

A.

NO. While we love the opportunity to meet face to face with the couples considering our services, you may be having a destination wedding making a meeting unrealistic. We also realize that this is a hectic time for all couples and don't want to mandate something that only complicates things. For these reasons we do not require meetings, however if a face to face meeting is not possible we are always available via phone or email and once you do secure our services we will definitely be communicating with you whether that be face to face, phone, or via some video conferencing service, whichever is best and most convenient for you.

Q?

How long will it take to get my wedding video?

A.

Average delivery is around 2-3 months. In our contract it specifies 3 months as the target with concessions to go over if necessary. The truth is though that in the past 4 years we have not once exceeded the 3 months timeline and in many cases we are much earlier than this. We have also recently put in place a limit to the number of weddings we accept in a years time also. The primary reason for this is so that we can provide more dedicated focus to the clients we work with and one of these aspects includes delivery time.

Q?

Do you have crews or different people that film/edit weddings?

A.

NO. We know that your wedding will be a special day and if we opted to have crews of people filming and then other people editing we know that some of the individualism and special details would be lost in all that commotion. For this reason it is ONLY US (Marianna and Jamie) that will not only film but also edit your wedding. If in the very rare circumstance a medical emergency happened we do have qualified friends that could come and help and or take lead but in over 300 weddings we have never had this happen, even when Jamie broke his wrist 2 days before an event! 🙂
